A PATHWAY TO LEADERSHIP. Dr Paul Taylor 

I want to encourage you with 4 things that create a pathway to leadership.  

These are not my words.  I have taken them from a podcast that I listen to for the organization BNI that I would love to introduce to Burundi, but it has not happened yet.  

These 4 things are critical to the pathway to leadership and I believe many of you are doing them to some extent already.

Be solution focused, not problem focused.

Remember you are the solution to someone’s problem.  

Everything God has created has been with purpose and that includes you!  

Be an expert at solving problems with solutions and you will create wealth and happiness.  This requires vision, which uses your HEART, not your EYES!  Your eyes see the problem, your heart sees the solution!

Collaborate.

Work together with others.  I see how you work as a team.  It is amazing.  Collaboration is a forced multiplier.  It means you can accomplish more together than you can a part!  In the Bible, with God one can set to flight a thousand, two 10 thousand!  It is called synergy!  The sum of the parts is greater than the whole!  Working together with others will multiply your efforts exponentially.

Be a champion of Culture.

Culture eats strategy for breakfast!  Culture is how you do your business.  How you treat others along the way.  It includes your Vision, Mission, Core Values.  In essence, it is who you are!  Who you are is always more important than what you do!  

Culture includes why we do what we do!  It will guarantee success no matter what the outcome is.  Remember what Josimar Salum wrote, do the right thing and God will take care of the rest.  

We must always have a Christ Culture!  Do unto others as we would have them do unto us!

Care about the success of others!

People do not care what we have to say until they know that we care about them!  

When we put the success of others before ourselves, then we will be successful!  

Remember “I believe in you!”  Our actions should shout these words to others.  People need to know that we believe in them!  

I believe you are doing all of these things.  Why?  

Because true leadership is when we help people accomplish more than they thought possible!  

You are doing more today than I believe you ever thought was possible.  

We have only just begun!  Keep up the great work.  I am so proud of each of you.  Share this with others and let them know how proud of them you are.

THE KINGDOM OF GOD SUFFERS VIOLENCE AND THE VIOLENT TAKE IT BY FORCE. Dr Paul Taylor

I have been meditating on this scripture for a long time.  

“The law and the prophets were until John. Since that time the Kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone is pressing into it.”  Luke 16:16

The word “pressing” in the Greek is “biazetai”.  It means “force or pressing oneself into or to seize.”  It is the same word used in Matthew 11:12.  “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the Kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.”  The word “violence or violent” is the same word, “biazetai”.  

Why does it take force to enter the Kingdom of God?  What is the resistance to entering the Kingdom of God?  

Please, let me encourage you to read this Scripture before we continue: 

“Strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, “We must through many tribulations enter the Kingdom of God.” Acts‬ ‭14:22‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

I have often made the comment that their will be many who will be saved, but will never walk in the Kingdom of God here on Earth.  

I truly believe there is a great difference. There is no doubt that salvation is needed to enter the Kingdom of God. Salvation is freely given and freely received by those who have faith in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for the sins of the world. Jesus is the Door, there is no other way to salvation and a relationship with our heavenly Father.  However, I have no doubt that Jesus never intended the salvation message to be the end, but the beginning to a life relationship with God and His Kingdom or realm on the Earth!  

The great difference that I see between the message of salvation and the message of the Kingdom of God is that the first may prepare you for heaven but the second prepares you for a life long adventure here on Earth with God, and to live eternally in His Kingdom. The message of salvation is about heaven, but the message of the Kingdom is about the Kingdom. 

It should be noted that the message of the Kingdom reconciles you with your Heavenly Father and allows you to walk in the realm of heaven on Earth for a life long adventure with God!  However it is a journey, not a destination! It is not the end, but just the beginning.

This relationship with God is amazing, but comes with a price!  Not a price that you can purchase, because you do not earn it!  The price is effort, pressing, violence (spiritual), denying of oneself to enter in to the Kingdom realm. The apostle Paul said it comes through much tribulation or hardships.  The word in the Greek means, persecution, affliction, distress, tribulation. From the Greek word “thlibo”; pressure.

Again, my question is why?

I am sure there are many answers to this question.  When I read the context of scripture I see two enemies or powers that resist my walking in the Kingdom of God.  

Remember I don’t earn it and you don’t earn it.  It was purchased by the blood of Jesus and made available to everyone who is born again.  Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God.”  John 3:3. 

You cannot even see the Kingdom of God without being born again!  This scripture also verifies that there is more to our relationship with God and our purpose here on Earth than salvation.

The first resistance is that of the religious system, the law.  Read how the Pharisees despised Jesus for preaching the Kingdom of God.  Why?  The law allowed you to manipulate it.  You can keep the law and be far from the Kingdom of God!  Today it may not be the law by the Pharisees, but it is by the church through legalisms, rules and systems.

Jesus doesn’t want your sacrifice of works.  He wants your heart!  The law will allow you to justify yourself before men!  But that can’t happen in the realm of God.  You must press past the resistance of religion!

“Now the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, also heard all these things, and they derided Him. And He said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God.” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭16:14-15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

As you can notice it is the same problem today. Some leaders are lovers of money and through the preaching of works they make money. As my beloved friend Josimar Salum says: “There is no way someone can make money by preaching the Grace of God.”

The second resistance is your mind, yourself.  My greatest enemy is not the devil.  He has been defeated at the Cross.  My greatest enemy is ME!  My mind!  

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.” II Corinthians‬ ‭10:3-6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

I have to battle against my mind and what I know to be true in my flesh.  This is where repentance takes place. I have to change my thinking by God’s thoughts. This is where the battle of faith intensifies.  I know what I see with my eyes or know with my intellect, but the things of God are spiritually perceived!

 “However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.” I Corinthians‬ ‭2:6-16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

This is an extremely important portion of scripture.  You cannot know God and His Kingdom realm with your natural mind.  You must press past the resistance of your human flesh to SEE THE KINGDOM OF GOD!  

Walking in the Kingdom of God is a constant battle between flesh and spirit.  I wish I could say I win that battle every day, but it is my desire to walk in the Kingdom realm of God on Earth, as it is in heaven.  The answers to today’s problems are found in this realm of God!  It is not by an escape from this world fed by the rapture mentality. It is a solution to the problems that mankind faces here on Earth.  It is not super spiritual, but it is supernatural! We are all on this journey together.  

I pray you will join me as I press into the Kingdom of God.

Josimar asked me to write a message since business has slowed and I have a little more time.  

I have so much to say and want to give just a short message on the importance of fathers being obedient to the Lord and training their families in righteousness.   

I want to encourage you. We can often be hard on ourselves, but your love for God is pleasing to the Lord.  

Your obedience sets you apart from others.  Your family is an amazing blessing and such a testimony of your spiritual leadership as a father, and husband.  This qualifies you to listen in on the plans of God.  

“Then the men rose from there and looked toward Sodom, and Abraham went with them to send them on the way. And the Lord said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am doing, since Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? For I have known him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of the Lord, to do righteousness and justice, that the Lord may bring to Abraham what He has spoken to him.””

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭18:16-19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

 One of my favorite stories.  There is a conversation in heaven and it is recorded here.  

God says, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am doing...”  The answer is no.  Why?  “For I have known him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of the Lord, to do righteousness and justice, that the Lord may bring to Abraham what He has spoken to him.”  

There is so much in this conversation that we are allowed to listen in on with God.  

The bottom line is the obedience of Abraham to teach his children and household allows God to bring to Abraham all that He had spoken to him previously.  In your case, your obedience will allow you to receive all that God has for you.  This includes the promises of Abraham!!!  

Being a godly husband and father allows God to share with you His plans!  If you can be trusted with earthly things, such as training your children and raising them in righteousness, then God will trust you with some of His plans.  He is looking for faithful men!  

“For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. “ 2 Chron. 16:9. 

Do not think your faithfulness to the Lord goes unnoticed.

Most of the time church leaders just want money given to them so that they can pray and preach.  

But what these Kingdom people are doing are not only unique but if is wonderful because they understand the incredible power of prayer and yet know that if people do not learn a trade for business, they will become beggars, and not what God has created them to be.  

We are believing with people who have a Kingdom mindset that  combine prayer and work, value the gathering of God’s people in church, that do not have a sacred / secular worldview but see work as true worship, for tremendous favor and business success.  

Together we can create a different Burundi.  A prosperous and Godly Burundi.

So powerful and instructive !

Many people in Burundi believe that prayer is sacred and work is secular which is not true. Most of our pastors could tell us not to work but to go to church to live there and this has created to much trouble and poverty in the church of Burundi.

I like when you say that with a kingdom mindset work is considered as a true worship, for tremendous favor and business success. Thank you for that.

May God transform us so that we may think according to His will.

Thank you. Christians from pentecost churches are very poor. Pastors don't teach their members about business. In my association, we are helping young people from churches to know the principles of business. Things will change if  pastors change the mentalities and know  that to work is worship, we hope that God will change their bad mentalities through our advices. I want you to be my mentor and my coach.

We have shared with you many times that the Kingdom of God is discovered!  

You have to search for God and He will be found.  

You have to recognize that the Kingdom of God is a treasure and dig for it, to find it. 

G.K. Chesterton onces said,  

"How much happier you would be, how much more of you there would be, if the hammer of God could smash your small cosmos, scattering the stars like spangles, and leave you in the open, free like other men to look up as well as down!  As long as you have mystery you have health; when you destroy mystery you create morbidity.”  

We must all seek to find the wonderful treasure that we possess in Christ!  

“For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks, it will be opened.”  Matt. 7:8 --

Most of you that are a part of Champions with Destiny know that since our inception we have been working to inspire young men and women around the world to pursue their destiny.  We have been working in Burundi Africa since 2011 and this week we have seen the fulfillment of my dream.  I dreamed in 2011 of solution centers in Burundi that would assist people in fulfilling their dream.  MY DREAM IS COMING TO PASS!  You will be hearing more about One University for Africa in the coming weeks.  It is the fulfillment of a dream, not just for me, but for many who received training in 2011!   I pray that who ever reads this newsletter, that you would be inspired to dream and never give up on what God has placed in your heart!  Many times we try to make our dream come true, but it is not the right time.  The Bible is full of stories that confirm this truth.  But God is faithful to bring to pass those dreams that He has placed in the hearts of men and women who will believe!  Who will be faithful and who will partner with Him!  Jesus is an amazing God! One University for Africa Kickoff! In 2011 a word (thought, seed and idea) was delivered to about 40 young men and women in Burundi Africa.  "You are the solution to someone's problem!"  At that moment, unaware to all who were present, a revolution of thinking was born! From that small gathering of students who were activated by a truth, thousands of people have been impregnated with a virus that has created a preferred future, a dream come true! On March 26th, three men met to discuss the dream of thousands of solutionists in Burundi.  The dream was for a university where the multitudes of inspired young men and women could receive specific training and education that would enable them to fulfill their purpose in solving the problems of their society.  As partners with these solutionists we began to dream with them and from our gathering was birthed "ONE UNIVERSITY FOR AFRICA!" In the coming days and months you will be hearing more details about this university, the courses that will be offered, the opportunities that will be provided, the lives that have been changed and the problems that have been solved!  It is a new day for those who have been bold enough to dream and believe for the impossible!  DREAMS DO COME TRUE! I encourage you to join the revolution!

The DNA of an Innovator An innovator is one who introduces something new or makes changes in anything that is established.  Ghandi once said, "Be the change you want to see."  Nothing changes if nothing changes!  We all want change, but few are willing to pay the price for the change or we are dreamers without action!   In The Innovator's DNA, authors Jeffrey Dyer, Hal Gregersen, and bestselling author Clayton Christensen (The Innovator's Dilemma, The Innovator's Solution, How Will You Measure Your Life?) build on what we know about disruptive innovation to show how individuals can develop the skills necessary to move progressively from idea to impact. These authors have discovered that their are 5 skills needed to bring innovation. 1.  Association - They see associated parts, things that are happening separately, but are working together to bring change. 2.  Questioning -  They begin to question the status quo or what has been accepted!  Are you willing to think outside the box? 3.  Observing -  They begin to observe the cause and effect of what is happening around them.  Are you open to change?  People who are unaware of what is happening often miss the opportunity that is presented.   4.  Networking -  They realize they must work together with others to fulfill their dreams. 5.  Experimenting -  They are not afraid to experiment with new ideas in order to create a new culture, way of doing things that will bring the change desired. I thought these 5 skills were awesome and apply to what we are desiring in the world today.  It is time to open our eyes to see and become the change we want to be!

The Masterpiece!

The Lord gave opportunity recently to share this word with an African congregation here in the United States.  I will not be able to share all of the message, but I want to give you the theme of the message.   "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them."  NKJV "For we are God's masterpiece.  He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago."  NLT Salvation is not the purpose of the church of Jesus Christ.  It is the beginning to the purpose for which you were created.  You were created to walk in the Kingdom of God!  This is not a religious act!  This is a practical way of living your life on earth by walking with God!  You are His masterpiece!  You were created specifically for the time you are living in, the place where you are living, for the problems that you are facing!  Jesus created you for this purpose! Created for what?  For good works!  These good works are directly related to what you possess!  He has placed in you all that you need to fulfill your purpose. You have within you gifts and talents that you may not even be aware of, but when you begin to understand your purpose and pursue it these hidden treasures will begin to manifest.  You don't even know all that you possess!  You have to be about His business for these things to be revealed.  They can't be revealed in you unless you are walking with Him, pursuing the kingdom purposes of God!  What I am saying is that what God has placed in you is far greater than what you can see at any given moment.  You were created to do these works.  They were prepared for you before the foundation of the world, so that when you got to this very moment in time, these things would be prepared for you to walk in them!   It is hard to conceive of all that God has done.  Jesus has already been where you are being called to walk!  These works were created a long time ago so that you would walk in them today!  How amazing is that!  There are so many examples in scripture to bear this truth out, but I do not have time or space to share them with you today.  Hopefully soon!   My friend, be encouraged today!  You are His masterpiece created in Christ Jesus for such a time as this!  May the word of the Lord encourage you and give you a sure path to walk in.  Have a great day! There is so much happening today as God establishes His Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. This does not mean we will have a perfect world!  This just means the purpose of God for the world will be fulfilled and that is why I exist!  I can't encourage you enough to pray that Jesus will open our eyes to what He is calling us to do at this time in history.   Please join me in praying for One University for Africa.  We firmly believe that God is in this project to partner with our friends in Burundi.  They are already doing it, we only want to help them do it in a greater way!  The revolution has begun!  Won't you join us!
